How PawsPort Was Born: A Story of Empathy, Experience, and Evolved Pet Relocation

Founder with pet

In 2013, long before PawsPort was founded, our founder set out on what should have been a joyous journey—bringing home a beloved dog. But what followed was a deeply disappointing and emotionally draining experience. He encountered agents who offered false promises, focused more on money than the welfare of animals, and one even vanished after accepting payment. This betrayal left not just a financial dent—but a scar on trust.

Frustrated and heartbroken, he decided to take matters into his own hands. With no roadmap or proper information available back then—especially as India had recently imposed a ban on dog imports—he faced an uphill battle. But that journey, full of uncertainty and risk, planted the seed of something greater. Through months of intense research, networking, and firsthand learning, he eventually succeeded in bringing his dog home—not through shortcuts, but through sheer will and ethical persistence.

He realized something powerful: no one else should have to go through this.

What started as a personal mission soon transformed into a calling. He began helping fellow pet lovers in his circle—people who were struggling with pet relocation, often left in tears by untrustworthy service providers or abandoned by agents midway. He met countless families who were forced to leave their pets behind simply because they didn’t have the knowledge, time, or emotional strength to navigate the complex process.

That’s when PawsPort was born.

Not as a business, but as a heartfelt solution.
